Store Policies

Payment Methods:

We accept Cash, Local Checks and All Charge Cards.

Refunds:

In-store – No refunds allowed, but we will exchange under certain circumstances.

Our Books:

We carry new and used books. They are arranged according to the genre in alphabetical order by author.

Most merchandise is 50% off the cover price UNLESS new or otherwise marked. Puzzles are $4.00. Novelty items as marked.

WE ACCEPT most paperback fiction and puzzles in good condition. We reserve the right to deny books and/or puzzles that are in poor condition or already in our inventory.

Trading:

Store credit is issued for items you wish to trade with us. Your credit has NO expiration date. We WILL honor credit from “Donna’s Bookstop”. Once you accept the credit for your merchandise, that credit cannot be changed, and the merchandise becomes store property. If you leave your books by our front door, they will receive NO credit and will be considered a donation.

Credit:

We issue trade credit based on the current demand and resale value of a book or puzzle. Credit is based on the cover value of the book or the sale value of the item (usually 25% but may vary on supply and demand). Puzzles will normally be awarded a $2.00 credit.

Credit may be used to pay for up to 50% of your purchase EXCLUDING new books, rentals, or novelty items. The remainder of the purchase will be paid in cash, personal checks, or credit card (when the option becomes available).

Credit accounts may NOT be “cashed out” at any time.

Rentals:

We offer new-release rentals at $5.00 for two weeks. A rental agreement with credit card information must be completed and signed. The credit card will be charged if the rental is not returned in a timely fashion. The charge will be for the value of the rented book.

The amount we offer for merchandise, in cash or credit, is NOT negotiable. Prices and policies are subject to change at the discretion of the owner. The owner reserves the right to refuse service to individuals who cause a disturbance, violate safety protocols, or harass or threaten our employees and/or customers.
